Recently I met Juliette Godot on Twitter and asked if she'd mind letting me pick her thoughts a bit on the subject.And my own novel The Year of the Dragon | Khanya has some genealogical research woven into the plot.

Genealogical Searches for fiction Writers with Juliette Godot
Sometimes genealogical research appears in the plots of nocels, and reading The Fourth Protocol, a spy story by Frederick Forsyth actually helped us to find World War I & 2 records for many members of our families.
